The purpose of this commission is to provide a university forum and presidential advisory body to serve as advocate for issues that deal predominantly with the well-being and status of women in the university community. The commission is an independent organization and answers only to the president. Appointed by the president, the composition of the voting members includes twelve voting members—three (3) representatives from the faculty, administrative-exempt personnel, students and classified staff.
