An act relating to the University Recreation Center Advisory Council.
Be it enacted by the ASEWU Council that:

SECTION 1: Purpose

The University Recreation Center Advisory Council, hereafter referred to as the URCAC, shall be established to provide advice and council to the University Recreation Center Governance Board on all policies and financial matters, including maintenance and administrative services, for the University Recreation Center. The committee will provide an opportunity for all interested viewpoints to be heard and will hold a public meeting or meetings during its consideration and evaluation of the student and community programs, services, and activities.

SECTION 2: Membership

The membership of the URCAC shall consist of:

  1. The ASEWU President (who will never vote);
  2. The Director of the University Recreation Center or his/her designee;
  3. One (1) faculty member appointed by the Faculty Organization or his/her designee;
  4. One (1) member of the ASEWU Council;
  5. The Director of University Recreation or his/her designee;
  6. One (1) student representative of the EPIC program;
  7. Three (3) students at large appointed by the ASEWU President with the advice and consent of the ASEWU Council;
  8. One (1) representative from Business and Finance;
  9. The Dean of Students or his/her designee;<<>/
  10. One (1) University Recreation Center tenant or his/her designee, representing all University Recreation Center tenants.
SECTION 3: Voting

Quorum for the URCAC is a majority of its voting members. Vacant positions shall not be included in the voting membership. A majority of the voting members must be in attendance at the URCAB meeting in order for a vote to take place. Any item needs a simple majority in o-rder to pass.

SECTION 4: Chairperson

The URCAC will be chaired by the ASEWU President. He/she shall:

  1. Ensure accurate records are being kept;
  2. Bring all pertinent information to the URCAC and URCGB, including but not limited to: all University Recreation Center bonds, scheduling and space, and vendor contracts;
  3. Give an oral report at each URCAC and URCGB meeting.
SECTION 5: Meetings

The URCAC shall meet no less than once (1) each quarter.

SECTION 6: Removal of Members

By a resolution from the URCAC, approved by two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the URCAC, any member of the URCAC may be removed from the URCAC. If a member is absent or does not send a designee (where applicable), for two (2) consecutive meetings or a total of three (3) meetings in an academic year they may be removed by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the voting members of the URCAC for the following of the academic year.
