Bylaw: Disposition: Date of Disposition: Date Introduced: | 2007-2008/406____ Passed___________ November 8, 2007______ October 25, 2007 ____ | | An act relating to the disbursement of service and activity funds by the ASEWU. Be it enacted by the ASEWU Council that: SECTION 1: Purpose To equitably serve all parties receiving funding from ASEWU service and activity fee funds, not including those receiving a percentage allocation, the ASEWU shall create four (4) categories of which all ASEWU service and activity funds will be divided into. These categories shall be named: Student-Led Clubs and Organizations; Club Sports; Campus Programs; and Administrative and Personnel. SECTION 2: Definition - “Student-Led Clubs and Organizations” shall be defined as:
- All groups composed entirely of EWU students and advised by a member of the EWU faculty or staff.
- All groups having a primary purpose of academic, educational, social, or recreational, excluding those of a competitive athletic nature
. - “Club Sports” shall be defined as:
- All groups who qualify for membership in the club sports federation.
- “Campus Programs” shall be defined as:
- All programs that are administered by member(s) of the University personnel.
- The programs’ primary purpose is to provide programming, events, activities, or services geared toward the education, entertainment, recreation, or transportation of EWU students.
- “Administrative and Personnel” shall be defined as:
- All university employees providing support services for student-led clubs and organizations, club sports, or campus programs.
- All entities, which employ students, staff, or faculty.
SECTION 3: Category Assignment Each group shall belong to one (1) and only one (1) category as outlined in Section 2: Definition. The ASEWU Finance Committee will select the category that each group shall belong to with the approval of the ASEWU Council Position #6 Student Activities. SECTION 4: Appeals After a club, organization or program is assigned to a category, the club, organization or program may appeal to the ASEWU Finance Committee the decision regarding the category in which they were placed. The appeal must be in writing and received by the ASEWU Finance Vice President before the first day of December the year the club, organization or program is categorized. The final decision will be addressed at the group’s budget hearing once it has been discussed and decided on by the ASEWU Council. SECTION 5: Penalties Enforcement of these requirements shall follow the procedure established in the most current version of bylaw 706. SECTION 6: Rescinded Bylaw 06-07/406 is hereby rescinded.
