An act establishing the Review and Proposal Committee, a standing committee of the ASEWU Council.
Be it enacted by the ASEWU Council that:

SECTION 1: Purpose

The Review and Proposal Committee shall be established to recommend all legislation regarding the ASEWU Bylaws to the ASEWU Council.

SECTION 2: Membership

The voting membership of the Review and Proposal Committee shall consist of:

  1. Two (2) ASEWU Council Representatives;
  2. The ASEWU Speaker Pro Tem (Who will only vote in the case of a tie); and
  3. The Dean of Students or designee.
The non-voting membership of the Review and Proposal Committee shall consist of:
  1. One (1) Superior Court Justice; and
  2. Any student or staff member is allowed to participate as a non-voting member.

 

SECTION 3: Voting

Quorum for the Review and Proposal Committee is simple majority of voting members. The majority of those present must vote in favor of the item at hand in order for it to be passed.

SECTION 4: Chairperson

The chair of the Review and Proposal Committee shall be the ASEWU Speaker Pro Tem. He/She shall: A. Ensure accurate records are being kept; and B. Bring all pertinent information to the Review and Proposal Committee.

SECTION 5: Meetings

The Review and Proposal Committee shall meet no less than once (1) each month, excluding summer quarter, and as necessary.

SECTION 6: Removal of Members

By a resolution from the Review and Proposal Committee, approved by two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the ASEWU Council, any member of the Review and Proposal Committee may be removed from the Review and Proposal Committee.

SECTION 7: Rescinded

Bylaw 02-03/503A, is hereby rescinded
